Build times and tool costs
How long each kind of build usually takes, and what the tools behind it cost you each month. These are my estimates; your audit and written scope give you firm numbers.
Last updated October 15, 2026. Vendor prices change, so check the audit for current numbers.
| Build | Already on a CRM | Calendar and spreadsheets | Paper and phone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Missed-call text back | 1 week | 1 to 2 weeks | 2 weeks |
| Quote form with your pricing | 2 to 3 weeks | 2 to 3 weeks | 3 to 4 weeks |
| Booking with a deposit | 1 to 2 weeks | 2 weeks | 2 to 3 weeks |
| Reminders and review requests | 1 week | 1 to 2 weeks | 2 weeks |
| CRM, texts and calendar connected | 1 to 2 weeks | 3 to 4 weeks | 4 to 6 weeks |
| Paperwork and invoices | 1 to 2 weeks | 2 to 3 weeks | 3 to 4 weeks |
Weeks from a signed scope to working on your phone. These are my estimates; the written scope gives you a date. Business texting needs carrier registration, which can add a few days to a few weeks.
| Tool | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Business texting | About $15 to $30 a month for a small crew, plus a one-time carrier registration of about $20 to $60 |
| Card payments | About 2.9% + 30¢ per payment |
| Booking calendar | $0 to $15 a month |
| A field-service CRM, if you need one | From about $50 a month per user |
| Hosting for what I build | Included on the monthly plan, otherwise about $5 to $20 a month |
You pay vendors directly, in your name. I don’t mark them up. Vendor prices change, so the audit lists your actual numbers.
